EMAR Administration
- Log in to IMAR using your login and password or swipe your ID card.
- The med pass schedule will default to the current shift and time.
- For a specific unit or the entire facility view the following order statuses:
- Due in this time frame
- Due within the first 1½ hours of the next 2 hours
- Due within the last 1 hour of administration time for a med scheduled by shift, i.e. 7-3
- Due within the last ½ hour of administration time for a med scheduled with a specific time
- Late orders
- Select the resident and med to be administered and scan the medication bar code. The system will alert you if:
- It is a wrong or discontinued med for this resident
- Med is too early or too late
Log out and lock the IMAR system.
Administer the med.
Log back in and record that med has been administered.
The system will remind you to:
- Collect any vital signs and perform tasks attached to the order.
- Administer refused meds at a later time.
- Chart reasons and outcomes for PRN meds.
- Re-order a med if the supply is low.
