MDS Data Conflict Checking

MDS Data Conflict Checking goes beyond CMS error checking to identify more than 120 possible MDS data conflicts that can affect reimbursement, CATs, surveys and publicly reported Quality Measures.

Example: I5800 Depression (checked) and N0400 C. Antidepressant (unchecked)

The program will list this combination as a conflict so you can review and confirm that the responses are correct. If they are not correct, change one or both before you submit the MDS.

Use this tool to locate and correct conflicts that your surveyors might find.
Identify areas to report more accurately to improve RUGs and reimbursement.
Identify areas in which your staff needs additional MDS training.

The Data Conflict Summary shows how often particular conflicts occur. Use this report to guide your staff on how to assess and answer these MDS items.

The Data Conflict Trend reports reveals that the number of specific data conflicts are increasing or decreasing so you can decide if MDS training has been effective.

You can also identify response combinations that as exceptions for a particular MDS, resident or the facility so that the program no longer reports them as conflicts.
