MDS Submission

The MDS Submission process ensures that you submit complete, error-free MDS records.

  • The printed Chart Copy must match the electronic MDS record to be submitted.
  • If you change an MDS after you print it, the System verifies that you print the changed pages.
  • Comprehensive assessments must include the required Care Area Assessment (Section V).
  • The MDS Selection process automatically selects MDS records completed through a specific date. You can also select individual MDS records.
  • The MDS 14-day Alert identifies unsubmitted MDS records nearing the 14-day submission deadline.
When necessary, you can Modify or Inactivate submitted records and submit Modified records according to CMS regulations.
