QI / QA / CMS Surveys

Review your residents’ electronic medical record (EMR) in the same way it will be reviewed by surveyors and other government agencies. Learn about conditions and situations before they become issues that could affect your residents’ quality of life.

Quality Measures (QMs)

Hi-Tech will incorporate Quality Measure (QM) calculation into the System after the final QMs are determined in 2012. Previously, the System calculated Quality Indicators (QIs) from residents' MDS 2.0 records. These allowed you to:

  • Print QIs with each resident’s MDS records.
  • Print QIs sorted by resident or QIs.
  • Print or display a 12-month trend report.

Quality Assurance Reports

  • MDS: Compare responses for up to 9 different MDS questions. For example, list all residents who have fallen in the last 30 days and are taking antipsychotic medications.
  • Medications: List residents with orders for a particular med or class of meds.
  • Care Plans: List residents whose care plans include a specific problem, goal and/or approach.
  • Weights: For each resident, list weight gained or lost in pounds and percentages; list actual weight as a percentage of ideal weight.
  • Diagnosis: List residents whose face sheets include a specific ICD9 code.
  • Unresolved Conditions: List certain conditions reported on both the current and previous MDS.

Survey Reports

  • Print a resident’s CMS 802 Roster items with each MDS.
  • Extract survey detail from residents' current MDS records to print CMS 672 (Census) and CMS 802 (Roster) at anytime or upon arrival of surveyors.
  • Update survey data for residents whose MDS records do not provide the most current information.
